Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or sesame oil for extra flavor)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
  • Wash and thinly slice the cabbage. Julienne the carrot and thinly slice the bell pepper. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  1. Heat the Oil:
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  1. Sauté Aromatics:
  • Add the garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  1. Cook the Vegetables:
  • Add the cabbage, carrot, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  1. Season the Stir-Fry:
  • Drizzle in the soy sauce and toss well to coat. Add sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  1. Serve:
  • Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with green onions, if desired.
